Absolutely agree with all of this. Also, related, dating apps have "commodified" people. It's a pretty cynical situation when looking for a "romantic partner" can be likened to scrolling through Amazon for a product to consume. I'd say the sorry state of affairs between young adult men and women (and even those older), kind of speaks for itself.
I don't think about this enough. It is frightening—but very true. Sounds like we're turning people into on-demand services...which has all sorts of horrifying connotations if you think about it for more than a couple of seconds.
